Our work within the educational institution industry
Our Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access clients can be classified into four organizational types, they are: 1) Business, 2) Governmental Agencies, 3) Educational Institutions (Colleges – Harvard, UCI, ASU, etc…), 4) Non-Profits and 5) Individuals. There are really no differences between our medium to large business clients and our educational institution clients other than one thing. I will explain that below.
Educational Institutions = Colleges
So what type of help do our educational institutions (colleges) clients need when it comes to their Microsoft Excel, Access, MS Office files? Well, plenty, and it is very similar to the work that our business and government agency clients need. While the data (call them widgets) may be different, just as the data between various businesses is different, for colleges the data is often “people” and “classes” versus pounds of lumber or shares of stocks for businesses. So we do the same type of Excel, Access and Office development, same formulas, same layouts, just different widgets. So there is not really difference in that.
The only real difference between the two types of organizations is the client’s budget. That is it. Typically speaking schools have less money to spend to get the Excel and Access help that they need. But they do need the help, so that is why we offer schools an “.edu” discount. If you are for example UCI, one of our local repeat college clients, we have to offer a discount in order to get the work. So that is what we do.
