What is the SINH Function in Microsoft Excel?

The SINH function in MS Excel has the ability to compute the hyperbolic sine (sinh) of a given number. The formula of the Excel’s SINH function is:

=SINH (number)

Always remember that every Excel formula must be preceded by an equal (=) sign unless the function is included inside another function.

In the formula of the SINH function, the number argument is a real number in which you want to compute for the hyperbolic sine. The argument can be supplied in either of the following:

  • You can type in the actual real number
  • You can enter the argument as a value returned from other formulas or functions, or
  • As a cell reference which contain the value
